Dragons

 Author's Note: Today I am writing about dragons. I chose this topic because I believe that they are amazing creatures. I was focusing on organization in this piece. Please comment so I could improve and become a better writer.

Dragons, what are they? Peaceful creatures that have no reason to interact with us, or are they keepers of peace and bring good and justice to land or are they evil creatures that wish to bring destruction, famine and death to all that it sees. Whatever they may be they are fascinating organisms and have made their mark in history. Dragons are some of the most fascinating and mysterious creatures in the world.

Many origins of dragons come from ancient civilization’s mythology. In the northern sky you can see the constellation draco which is a dragon. In china the dragon was considered an imperial animal and was in the designs of the emperor’s clothes. They were said to have the ability to control water therefore determining the future of the ancient Chinese people. Also in the medieval times in Europe they were on the symbol for countries as a sign of power and strength. It is not a coincidence that these two civilizations believed the same animal, the thing is that they imagined dragons differently.

Over the course of history dragons have been given many forms. Near China dragons were imagined as streamline creatures with scales that had multiple sets of legs and arms. But in Europe the dragons were serpentine or reptilian creatures with 2 arms and legs or 4 legs and no arms and wings. Also dragons could shot scorching flames from their mouth.

Even though it has been many centuries since medieval times and the ancient Chinese empire dragons are still remembered and have earned a place in pop culture. Many video games that include fighting with swords and such dragons are chosen as bosses due to the fabled power. There are some books like Dragon Rider and the Eragon series that include multiple dragons. Movies sometimes even have dragons in them like Eragon, How to Train your Dragon, and Shrek too.

Dragons are quite intriguing animals. They are kinder than you and I yet more furious than any army known to man. They will continue to be an influence on people for time to come. In the past people were fascinated by them and they will continue to for the time to come.
